
Evidence Required for SQE2 Exemption Applications

If you possess significant legal experience, you may be eligible for an exemption from the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) stage 2. However, the path to securing an SQE2 exemption requires comprehensive evidence and documentation. Here’s what you need to know to submit a strong application. What Is an SQE2 Exemption? The SQE2 tests practical legal skills, including client interviews, advocacy, case analysis, and legal drafting. To be granted an SQE2 exemption, your qualifications and/or work experience must meet the content and standard of SQE2 and align with level three of the SRA Threshold Standard—the competency level of a newly qualified solicitor in England and Wales.
